I've always loved writing and movies so naturally, I was interested in screenwriting from an early age. I wrote the first draft of a script for a screenwriting class I took in college. It got decent feedback and won a small student contest. And then...I didn't do anything with it. I graduated, started working fulltime in journalism and stopped writing scripts. I would do a few things on the side, a music blog, discussions about a podcast, but nothing that really stuck. Fast forward eight years and I was in a bit of a rut, feeling like I had a lot of creative ideas but unsure of how to express them. That's when I decided to give screenwriting another shot.
It's been a blast. I love the challenge. I love the process. I love the feeling of creating something. And it's something I want to continue to pursue. Right now it's merely a hobby, which I'm fine with because of my passion for it. But, I'd love to one day get to a point in which I could do this professionally. And I figured this would be a great place for me to learn more about the craft while getting unbiased, constructive feedback from writers.
