Welcome to a glimpse of Marti’s life…comical, hopeful, triumphant. It’s no small feat that she can write today, what with her non-stop schedule of mommying, marriage, running a health clinic (which is the same as a preschool), and saving the world in her hot latex suit. What can she do when the writing bug strikes? She has to write. It drives her.
Even if she does have laser vision.
Creative by nature, it oozes from her pores. Her first article, “Love Wrote The Letter,” was published in The House Organ and featured on NPR. Disgusted with being
let down with movies, she decided to jaunt into making screenplays. Her first screenplay, DRAW, was made into a short film which won Honorable Mention at the Vanderbilt Film Festival. Her second short film, FIRST DATE, is currently in the post stages of production. Also in post production is THE HABITUAL LIAR, an adaptation of The Bubba Stories by Lee Smith. Marti wrote and directed it. Under the prompting of Will Akers, her fearless mentor and tutor, she wrote RUNNING WILDE as a feature film. She had a blast writing it and is currently in the process of crafting another work. It’s her quest to become a driving force in Hollywood and wield production power to help other unknown writers see their work on the silver screen.
Marti had the great honor of being Alberto Fuguet’s Line Producer in the upcoming international feature, MUSICA CAMPESINA. She’s also worked as a Production Assistant for Will Akers on the short film, A TRIBUTE TO J. EDGAR HOOVER, and can be seen in HANNAH MONTANA: THE MOVIE. You’ll know her when you see her because she was the best extra ever.
