Carl's recent project, a family adventure script called THE HUNT, a personal homage to the blockbuster movie JAWS; it has attracted interest from A-list directors and talent, and is currently with producer Chris Ufland and ICM.
Carl's script, taut horror anthology THE GATHERING, was optioned by director Jon Keeyes and Highland Myst Cinema Group/Treasure Entertainment. It is due for a Halloween 2010 theatrical release and stars Linda Blair, Brian O Halloran, Udo Kier, Kiowa Gordon, David Naughton, Doug Bradley, Billy Drago, Jeffery Combs, William Sadler, Bill Mosely, Danielle Harris, Clint Howard and many more.
Carl has intensely studied all the known avenues of modern thought on screenwriting, including John Truby and Syd Field, and has attended numerous classes on the art. Thanks to his movie and theatrical background, Carl has had a wealth of experience to draw from when creating the striking dialog and vividly original characterizations that are fast becoming his hallmark in the industry.
Carl optioned the first script he ever wrote, a fast paced supernatural thriller entitled RISEN, to director/producer Zachary Weintraub. He then went under contract to producers Michael and Michelle Overbay at Kingsrow Entertainment where he worked for two years on developing the company's concepts into marketable properties. It was during this period that he also gained valuable experience working on paid assignments for various industry clients.
Carl then spent two years researching and writing his next script, CRIMSON ROMANCE, a powerful and original take on the "Bonnie and Clyde" story, which was given a "studio consider" by the highly respected Creative Screenwriting magazine.
Cannes Lion award-winning director Roger Betiol and his animation company Animapixel chose Carl's script, WHERE'S THE VAMPIRE? for their first major production, which is due for a 2011 release. Uma Thurman was so impressed by the early trailer, that she approached Carl and the company to help provide valuable publicity and promotion.
Carl is currently writing and developing a number of exciting new screenplays for the marketplace across a wide array of genres.
