I'm a long-time professional musician and singer/songwriter who is in the midst of transitioning to (hopefully) doing the acting and screenwriting as my 'main thing'.
I was on Season 6 of American Idol and have written several top 5 songs for myself and other artists -- including a #1 hit for Rascal Flatts called "Here Comes Goodbye".
I was never a MASSIVE success, but I saw enough success (more than 99% of people in this business) and enough of the politics of the entertainment business to understand that any success you can ever see is a true blessing. As a musician, any listen you get is a blessing. Any chance to get heard by someone that matters is a BIG DEAL.
How does that apply to what I do now? Well, it's the same...but different.
I know that I am not guaranteed success, but I also have a vision of knowing what it takes to be successful in this business. And I believe it comes down to 2 things: humility and work ethic.
Work ethic isn't a problem for me. But humility has long been my downfall. But I'm working at it. Trying to be the man I'm supposed to be and (hopefully) the writer I'm meant to be. Hopefully, I can put it together enough to see some success in this tough business.
I love this website and am committed to helping others as I have been helped on this site.
