I am a professional Screenwriter who has written on assignment many times, as well as an active, in-demand Writing Coach who guides screenwriters to map, outline, write, rewrite and market their unique features and television pilots. I coach newcomers, middle level and professionals, and many of my clients have worked with the top networks and studios in the industry, such as Netflix, HBO, Warner Brothers, Disney, Sony, ABC, Showtime, Apple TV+ and more.
Some of you may know me from one of my books. I am the author of the best-selling books 'Story Maps: How to Write a GREAT Screenplay' and 'Story Maps: TV Drama: The Structure of the One-Hour Television Pilot,' and I'm working on an upcoming book about writing for streaming television, both half-hour and one-hour. I'm proud to have been the first guy to really detail a beat sheet template for television, both one hour and half hour.
My industry experience originally came from working as a top Story Analyst ("Reader") for major studios like Twentieth Century Fox, Miramax Films and New Line Cinema. I developed my Story Map method while I was on the job evaluating tons of material and seeing what worked on the page and what didn't.
I have a degree in Film and Television from New York University and I currently live in Los Angeles. You can learn more and get in touch with me via actfourscreenplays.com. Glad to be here!
