Born in India, the 4th generation, of Iraqi Jewish parents; educated to Senior Cabridge School Leaving Certificate by Belgian and Canadian Jesuits in Darjeeling, the queen of Himalayan hill stations; immigrated to London UK at age 22; from where emigrated to Israel with wife and baby daughter 10 years later in 1968. Produced two Sabra sons and did 'A' Levels by correspondence from London University. Joined a Tel Aviv theatre group where I acted in and directed several plays, two of which were selected to represent Israel in the Eire annual theatre festival; Had several stories and essays printed in Magazines, Anthologies and on-line in countries as wide afield as Canada, India, USA, New Zealand, UK, and Israel. Published two books: "YESHUA!" (a recreation of the life of Jesus from a Jewish viewpoint and which has been converted into a screenplay) and "Cocktails for Conoisseurs" (a collection of short stories, essays, verses and songs). Retired now but still writing and lecturing on "Yeshua ben Yosef, the Jew who became the God of the Christians," "A Shake-up Of Shakespeare's Shylock," "The Jews of India, history and memories," and readings from the book of short stories.
Apart from the screenplay of Yeshua, another called "Vaihiva" from a book by Charles Nordoff and James Norman Hall had the eye of Hollywood, Academy-Award-winning director, the late Samson Raphaelson, who offered advice on how to improve it. Add a couple of stage plays and there you have it.
Have just accepted an offer to publish the book "YESHUA!" by an accredited publisher in New Delhi, India.
