
Matthew Currie Holmes is an award-winning filmmaker with over 25 years of experience in the film industry. With 40+ film and TV credits, he has worked alongside Hollywood legends like Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, and Dean Devlin. Matthew has brought compelling stories to life across multiple genres as a writer, director, and producer.
He co-wrote, directed, and co-produced two multi-million-dollar features: The Curse of Buckout Road (starring Danny Glover), which won multiple Best Feature awards, and Traces (starring Sosie Bacon and Rick Springfield), currently streaming on Tubi and Prime Video. Matthew’s screenplay Self Storage won Best Screenplay at the Creation International Film Festival and is now in active development, with Matthew set to direct and produce in 2025. His upcoming projects include Dead Weight (Death at a Funeral meets Midnight Run) and Never Alone (Split meets Promising Young Woman), both optioned and in development.
In addition to his filmmaking, Matthew empowers screenwriters and filmmakers through The Fast Draft Method, a transformative screenwriting program designed to help writers overcome obstacles like imposter syndrome, writer’s block, and perfectionism. This method guides participants to complete pitchable first drafts in just 15 days. He also created The Independent Film Producer’s Blueprint, a coaching program that equips aspiring producers with the tools and knowledge to navigate financing, production, and distribution confidently.
