I'm an independent screenwriter who has recently completed a bachelors' degree from Illinois State University. I began learning the craft in 2014 with the writing of a short drama titled "The Odds". Being someone who has lived within two different cultures, the influences behind my writing come from both American and Indian cinema. Some of my favorite films include: The Pianist, 42, The Aviator, The Godfather The Fighter, The Social Network as well as many new-age Bollywood films. The writers I admire most include Farhan Akhtar, John Logan, Aaron Sorkin, Anurag Kashyap, and Quentin Tarantino. I have submitted screenplays to contests such as BlueCat, SlamDance, and Scriptapalooza from which I received extremely insightful feedback. I hope to build upon these teachings by reading various different features of all genres. I greatly enjoy the writing process and am looking to improve upon my craft and hopefully make a few friends along the way.
