Two hundred years ago, a spaceship crashes on a remote colonial plantation in Virginia. A young girl, KATE DIBBLE, documents the events as they unfold in a series of diaries. And for two centuries, those diaries remained hidden.
Until now.
COLIN BRAYTON is a widowed bookstore keeper. One night, an elderly gentleman, ASHER BRADFORD, approaches Colin. Asher offers Colin a remarkable proposal – a handsome fee to appraise rare and valuable books in a restored colonial mansion in Virginia. Colin accepts.
While appraising the books, Colin stumbles across the diary of Kate Dibble. He learns about Kate and her brothers ROBERT and ANTHONY who are the adopted children of MARY and PAUL DIBBLE. Colin is immediately drawn into the story of the Dibble family during summer of 1781 where a strange alien craft crashes into the nearby woods. And the diary abruptly ends.
The arrival of the caretaker, MADELINE PRENTICE, a prickly, beautiful, but distant woman interrupts Colin’s work. Maddy is determined that Colin will not usurp her authority over the Dibble plantation as she works to restore the entire property to the way it was in the 1780’s. The two clash over Colin’s preference to solve the mystery of the diary while Maddy prefers he stick to the task of appraising the books.
The second diary chronicles the survivor of the crash and how Kate’s siblings befriend the creature and name him BRONTE, an escaped alien slave. Anthony and Robert are given the large task of burying the spaceship. The second diary ends without any final answers. Colin finds the hidden clues that that lead him to the buried alien ship where he finds the third and final diary.
The third diary reveals the darkest chapter. The aliens return to capture Bronte. Unable to find Bronte, the unearthly visitors snatch Kate. And with the third diary in conclusion, Asher Bradford shows up to reveal his true intentions that leave Colin and Madeline with a stunning surprise.
