An Irish Dragon walks into a crowded saloon in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a young man with a gorgeous Mexican/Maya Lawyer on the Fourth of July. As the Dragon tries to order drinks, a local ex-Marine Mailman tries to engage the Mexican/Maya lawyer in conversation -
“This mailman annoys me.”
“Your girl friend?”
“We're cousins.”
“Locals?”
“No. We're from Mexico... on quest to save the world.”
“Can I help?”
“We're looking for a Hero to sleep with her... and, maybe, help slay a corporate monster.”
“I'm your man.”
“No, he is not!”
And that's when ill-intentioned, machete-bearing, corporate goons-in-suits arrive and start a ruckus with highly lethal results.
To save himself (and our globalizing world)... a maturing, shape-shifting, fire-breathing dragon must face his father (a powerful international CEO) in a fight to the death in a Yucatan rain forest.
The story begins in 1307 with a battle between Knights Templar and the French Royal Guard. Later that night the Templar Commander attacks his adolescent soldier/son with words, broadsword and fire... until the son (with a sword in his neck) submits to the father's will, strength and authority. From that night to just awhile ago... the son had been his father's working class soldier and slave.
Father and son are dragons forced to hide in plain sight as human beings... because long ago (before the son was born) “good men” damn near exterminated the dragon species. Father hates Mankind and seeks revenge... while his “little worm” of a son wants to be a good man, and a free one.
Thus... as the father relentlessly realizes his revenge upon Mankind one Big Business corporate deal at a time... the maturing, growing son makes his break for freedom knowing two things: 1) He must kill his father. 2) He can't succeed by himself. No one can. He'll need help.
In this Age of Globalization, short-term corporate greed, political/industrial climate-change denial (and all denied scientifically pertinent issues,) attempted government by super pac and religious terrorism... this is the genesis story for a relevent, global, working classes Super Hero.
