An amoral, down on his luck attorney sues a beloved Iron Man-esque superhero with a dark side on behalf of an intern who was blinded, burned, and rendered comatose by a chemical spill in the one of the hero's company labs. But what is supposed to be an open-and-shut case to pay off his gambling debts begins to complicate when the family member who hired him refuses to take a settlement because she wants silly things like "justice" and "accountability."

THE CAPE CHASER is one part legal drama, one part dark comedy, one part superhero fantasy.
Set in a New York City bustling with superheroes who pay Super Insurance in case a lawyer finds a client looking to recoup damages caused by one of their usual battles with villains, the series follows JACK DUPREE, one such "Cape Chaser."
As a supervillain defense lawyer turned personal injury lawyer, Jack’s philosophy on life can be summed up in two simple phrases. The first is what he puts on his business cards: “Hit by debris? Call Jack Dupree.” The second is what he tells himself so he can sleep at night: “All anybody’s out to do is just make a buck and get by.”
The one Super he’s always wanted to sue is ADAM MIRANDA, known to the public as MIRANDA MAN. He’s an elderly billionaire who used his wealth to build a jetpack and a suit of futuristic battle armor. His marketing dollars and business savvy garnered him the title of Most Beloved Superhero in the World. He's Jack’s perfect enemy: an ambitious superhero with deep pockets. And with Jack near financial collapse, and owing a great deal in gambling debt to a super villain he once got out of prison time, he needs a suit against someone who has more than enough money to throw at him just so he’ll go away.
And Jack gets his wish when he’s hired by CHARLIE ROBINSON, the mother of a young woman named MARGO who is blinded, put into a coma, and badly burned in a chemical spill while working as an intern at one of Miranda’s many medical research companies.
It seems like easy money to Jack. Open and shut negligence. But things quickly spiral out of control. Charlie refuses to settle. She wants to see Miranda pay in a court of law. Margo wakes up from her coma with superpowers. If she opens her eyes in sunlight, they’ll involuntarily shoot out a big ol’ laser beam. She demands he use his knowledge of supervillains to help her become a superhero - even if she has to rob banks to pay for the Super Insurance. Jack, meanwhile, begins to grow a conscience when he realizes Margo isn't the one who this has happened to. There's a class action law suit to be had here, but that means he may not be able to pay his debts for some time, and his mobster debtor is growing impatient.
Little does Jack realize that by pursuing this case, he's setting into motion a chain of events that will reveal how super villains are really made and the creation of the greatest one the world has ever known.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day, villains aren’t made in a week, and multinational corporations aren’t brought down in single season. Jack, Margo, and Charlie have a long road ahead of them.
Litigation can take years.
