A rich spoiled 16-year-old girl is forced to go to a military academy where her hated father is teaching as a punishment for being caught with drugs, a prospect relished by neither. The challenges, conflicts and hostile classmates she encounters are bitter fruit to endure, but as she meets the challenges and excels the fruit is sweet to finish.

A judge mandates that Mia Lash, the spoiled daughter of a rich socialite, enroll at Oak Ridge Military Academy under the supervision of her estranged father who teaches there for repeated drug violations and since her mother has been sent to prison for buying prescription drugs on the street. Her sassy privileged attitude alienates her dorm mates and Colonel Lloyd the feared Academy Commandant who brooks no attitude from anyone. Forced 10 miles marches with 25-pound backpacks, hate/harassment from Fox, the psycho girl commandant and the discipline instilled by Colonel Lloyd force Mia to adapt or live in constant misery. When Fran, her protective roommate and best friend OD’s, Fox plans her final revenge on Mia only to find that now Mia can hold her own. Just as Mia is promoted to an officer under Colonel Lloyd’s tutelage and has earned the respect of her peers. her mother pulls her out of Oak Ridge and takes her home. After a welcome home party, Mia learns that she no longer fits in with her old rich friends anymore and returns to Oak Ridge where Colonel Lloyd has a surprise for her, a surprise that will change her life forever.
