Peter is living in London as a journalist, he has a boyfriend who he is happy with. His parents and older brother, Henry, live a few hours away in the countryside. Henry is everything that their parents wanted him to be, he's married, he has three children, a good job as an accountant, everything. Peter's relationship with his parents is strained, they refuse to accept his sexuality, his mother is constantly pushing girls towards him, trying to decide who would be the best wife for her youngest son, his father just plain refuses to acknowledge Peter's sexuality at all, but is generous with sarcastic jabs every so often.
When Henry and his wife die suddenly, Peter is granted custody. He leaves the city and tries his best to learn to be a parent, whilst knocking heads with his parents constantly. He begins to wonder if they will ever accept him for who he is, not who they wish he were.
