Trail of Tears

This is a story line I am currently developing. I am a bit stymied with how the story should go, as there are several ways this could be written. I could follow the Uncle's struggle to raise a child while on the run from the posse. I could also write about the Mother's struggles, outlined in the snippet, to find her missing child. I could also write both story lines into the script, with the Mother's struggles having the mot impact.

Any one have any suggestions on this?
